As part of the Stellenbosch Triennale 2025, we were entrusted with capturing the visual heartbeat of two major exhibitions: In the Current and On the Cusp. Both are hosted at the iconic Oude Libertas venue and form a core part of the Triennale’s offering, bringing together leading and emerging voices from across Africa and the diaspora.

This photographic series documents not just the artworks, but the spatial and emotional resonance of each installation. It honours the material textures, artist presence, public interaction, and ephemeral energy that define this living exhibition space. Every image serves as both record and reflection - an archive of the work, and a meditation on what it means to create, exhibit, and breathe as an artist in Africa today.

Shot on-site over multiple days, this portfolio captures a rare and powerful moment: when concept becomes form, and the public meets the art mid-breath.
